Defending champion Paula Creamer has withdrawn from the Jamie Farr
Owens Corning Classic because of an injured left thumb. Creamer was
scheduled to tee off at 9:10 a.m. in Thursday's opening round along
with five-time Farr winner Se Ri Pak and In-Kyung Kim. But she
notified tournament director Judd Silverman that she was pulling
out of the tournament.

Defending champion Paula Creamer has withdrawn from the Jamie Farr
Owens Corning Classic because of an injured left thumb. Creamer was
scheduled to tee off at 9:10 a.m. in Thursday's opening round along

tournament in Pittsford, N.Y., because of the injury.

Paula Creamer plans to play in the U.S. Women's Open next week
despite a sore thumb. Creamer is resting her injured left thumb
after getting two anti-inflammatory shots ahead of the U.S. Open at
Saucon Valley in Bethlehem, Pa. Creamer, the defending champion of
this week's Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic, withdrew before
Thursday's first round because of the thumb.
Pressel in 3-way tie for Farr lead; Wie one behind
Morgan Pressel, Song-Hee Kim and Laura Diaz made the most of the
defending champion's absence at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning
Classic. Each shot a 7-under 64 after Paula Creamer withdrew,
taking a one-shot lead over Michelle Wie and Suzann Pettersen after
Thursday's opening round at Highland Meadows. Creamer, who shot a
personal-best and course-record 60 in last year's first round,
withdrew because of a thumb injury moments before her morning tee
time.
